Sony Honda Mobility Inc. has begun accepting pre-orders for the Afeela 1 electric car, which will cost $89,900. First deliveries are scheduled for 2026.
The joint venture between Sony and Honda has unveiled its first electric car in the United States. Kyodo News reports.
The presentation of the Afeela 1 car took place during a media event on the eve of CES 2025 – one of the world’s largest technology exhibitions, which opens on Tuesday in Las Vegas.
The four-door sedan is equipped with a digital dashboard and dozens of sensors to prevent accidents. Afeela 1 includes advanced interactive services based on generative artificial intelligence. The technology allows drivers to control functions in the car using voice commands and receive personalized suggestions.
It is noted that Sony Honda Mobility Inc. has already started accepting pre-orders for the Afeela 1 electric car, which will cost $89,900. The first deliveries are planned for 2026.
The car is currently available for online booking by California residents.
Recall that in the Chinese province of Jiangsu, a team of researchers from Southeast University developed and presented the country’s first aero electric car Southeast University Kunpeng No.1.
